Prayer Works in God's Timing, Not in Ours
I know it has been awhile since I have written anything. I have had a few family things come up and with Christmas activities it was difficult to really find time to write and not be in a hurry. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and New Year! I hope and pray 2018 is a good year for everyone.

"Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distress." Psalms 107: 13 HCSB
Do you ever feel like you pray about something and nothing seems to happen. I know when I pray I am expecting a change to happen soon, that day or the following days. The problem in that is that I am expecting it... I know God can do anything, but the fact I am excepting it in my timeline of things is the issue.
In 2017 was indeed an up and down year for me. It might not have been visible to the eye for some looking in, but it was. When I speak of things that happen to me I know I am not alone. Other's are either going through similar things, or more intense circumstances than I. I have struggled knowing my place in the world, knowing if this is it, knowing if I am on the right track in my life, being ungrateful at times, and selfish. It is hard to admit when you've been wrong, at fault or negative about things. Sometimes God allows certain things to happen to you, or in you to make you a stronger person in your faith and to humble you. We go through things sometimes that we know only God can fix or change. Prayer does work, we have to open ourselves to receive what He gives to us, even when it's not what we "expected". Will He answer my prayer or will it be something totally different from what I asked? And if it's not what I want to hear will I really accept that? God has better plans for us than we could ever imagine. We may have to step out from our comfort zone, but that one step could be the step of many life changing decisions for the better.

"Should we accept only good from God and not adversity?" Job 2:10
I pray for us to continually keep God first in our lives. Just as we work on our friendships, our relationships with family, and our spouse let us continually work on our relationship with God, that when that is right everything else seems to fall into place. It may not be like that always, but it sure does seem like it.

"God wants to change our lives - and He will, as we open our hearts to Him. " - Billy Graham, A Daily Walk Through Psalms
