Living in Emotions VS Living in God's Truth
When things aren't quite going your way in life, it is easy to live in those feelings and emotions. We all have feelings and emotions and they matter. We all have different paths in life that we learn and grow from. For years I was really caught up in a unhealthy mindset, and always living in my emotions instead of trying to work through and see the full picture in front of me. There are always going to be things in life that are out of our control, but we can choose how we handle it. (Side note: I remember my father telling me this over the years, and I understand it more now than ever.) Have I always handled things right? No. Am I going to always handle things right from here on out? No, but I am going to try my best to do things right. We are human and we mess up sometimes, and that's okay. We just have to learn from it and see what we can do better.

Over the past year I have gone through many changes within myself. I now have a clearer mindset to see and understand how unhealthy of a place I was truly in. I was trying to figure everything out on my own instead of trusting in the Lord in the process. Instead of trying to really enjoy what God had given me, I was living in my hurt, and living in the constant voice of what I thought I was and not who I truly am. Its easy to constantly live in the hurt when you are hurting. I understand because I believe we all have been through that at least once in our life. I finally got to a place that I was tired of myself, I had to make a change if I wanted things to get better. I needed to change how I felt about myself, and how I viewed life. We may not be able to change some circumstances, but we can handle the way we handle ourselves in the process. Its a hard place to get to knowing you have things to work on and change within yourself, but we all have things to work on to be better people.

When voices pop up in your head to try and tell you who you are, or what you're not.... that is only from the devil. He doesn't want you to be your full potential that the Lord has planned and wanted you to be. Especially when you compare yourself with others, that, my dear, is a very dangerous road. Our road will never be the same as someone else, so why compare? We are all different, and walk in different shoes. The devil does whatever he can to mess with people's mind and heart, which affects your spirit. The more I pour into the Lord and work on building my relationship with Him a little everyday, I see my life more clearly. Going through dealing with myself, I couldn't be what my husband needed and we could barely communicate. I'm glad I went through that to see where I came from, and how my life has changed by fully relying on the Lord and how my marriage has blossomed over the last year. I also am thankful for all the ones who stood beside me when I was hard to love and communicate with, and also the ones who prayed for me and over me. When things started really changing, I had to make the decision and acknowledge what and how I was dealing with things was NOT working.... and that's when action started taking place. I had to make a move. God will always be on our side and want the best for us, but we also have to come to Him and make a move ourselves.

Even in the dark times, God is making a way when we don't even see it. Sometimes we can be blinded by our emotions, and the way we are perceiving things. I believe that to be true, not discounting what people may be going through.... but remember we all are going through something, not just ourselves. When you focus on others more than what you are going through, life can be more rewarding because we need each other. God didn't want us to handle things alone.... that means having a community to go to for help as well. Also, life is not all about us all the time.

I pray for whoever reads this to understand my heart, and words of advice from my experience within myself. I pray for those dealing with the battle in your mind, and heart and know and claim that you are a child of God and He made you for better things than what you are going through and fighting. I pray for all the thoughts the enemy has told you about yourself to be washed away and for you to see yourself the way God sees you. I pray for a clear mind for everyone and for there to be more of a want and hunger for God in your life. I pray for peace to overflow in your life, so you can live the life God has for you. It doesn't mean life will be easy, but knowing you are not alone and He is in control of all things is a wonderful thing. I also pray that people be willing to see what they need to do within themselves for change, because this is a hard place to get to. In all this I pray in the Lord's name, Amen.
