Growth in Darkness

Growth takes time. Seeds are planted. Water is poured. But the growing process takes time. In the breaking down of situations, in the hard seasons, in the unknown curve balls life so often gives; we grow in the lessons of it all. We have seen so many things I’m sure over time about growth in life, growth in relationships, and growth in maturity. Growth in many avenues in life have been discussed.
But have you ever really thought about the growth process. Yes the soil is prepared, the seeds are planted and daily watered to help with the growth. But have you thought about where the seeds really are? They are in darkness. In our dark seasons, in the dark nights of loneliness, sorrow and despair God meets us there. It’s not just in the good seasons, but in the hard dark seasons especially. Though it may be dark around you now, God is still preparing your growth. Even when you question “does anyone still know I’m buried/ planted here?”, as a little seed may wonder. God hasn’t forgot, and would never forget one of His children. No matter what the world may say or how others may have treated you. God is watering you even when you don’t see it, and you may be in the dark unaware. Let the water overflow until you blossom into the child He has planned and called over you on your life. He won’t leave you, growth takes time.
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
1 Corinthians 3:6 NIV
Keep doing the daily things to help your growth that feed life into you. Take time for the fresh air, the sun light, and thirst your soul with daily readings of Gods word. There is life in the Holy word. He speaks power and truth always.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 NIV
Lord, I pray for whoever is reading this that they know your mighty and loving hand is on them. The devil works his ways in all of our lives to try and steal, kill and destroy anything you’ve made that is good. I pray to cast away the devils schemes and lies away from them. The battle is great it feels at times, but YOU ARE GREATER LORD. The road feels long that they are traveling, but YOU ARE GREATER LORD. The devil has no hold on your child because you protect them and call them yours! Lord you win every battle, and we thank you for fighting for us even when we fail at times. You love us through it all. We ask for forgiveness and repentance of when we have fallen short, made poor decisions, and forgotten about you Lord. Cover us all Lord from the things that try to grab our attention away from you. Cover us Lord from the past hurt or words spoken into us that we all are freed from that. Use us Lord for you and your kingdom to help and love others like you love them. You are powerful, mightly, loving, and always faithful Lord. Thank you for the lessons in the hard times and good times. Help us cling to you for all things, because we need you in all things. You are the breath of life and the water we thirst for in this life. Help us grow to be more like you Lord.
We love you,
Amen.
