The Same Different As Me

"'Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.' He also told them a parable: "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, "Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log our of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye."
Luke 6:37-42
When we are born into this world we are an innocent baby who is taught by the environment we are exposed to. As the years quickly go by we see many things about the world, good and the bad. When we look around it is to easy to let the people of this world who have made bad discussions cloud our judgement on others that may look similar. You have heard the saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover." This saying is so true in life about the way we looks at others. In life either by pride or by strength we want to show we have our lives all together, which in reality none of us do. We are all trying to figure life out, and some were born into wonderful life circumstances, but some were not as blessed. No matter where you come from never take for granted what you have been given by the Lord. Your circumstances in life do not divine who you are, you get to choose who you want to be. That is the neat thing about the Lord, He gave us a choice.

Maybe a year or so ago my husband and I went to our local movie theater to see a movie titled, "Same Kind of Different As Me." If you have not seen or heard of this movie I encourage you to watch it. It is based on a true story about a couple who are struggling in there marriage and in the midst of that the wife is shown by God to help a certain homeless man named Denver. I wouldn't want to spoil the movie for you by telling you all about it, ha! Basically, the point of the movie is how this women saw God leading her to help this man. How some may look at this man as dangerous, or "different" it turns out we aren't so different from one another. Somehow we have made a quick judgement about people before even give them a chance. What if this was how someone treated you, it doesn't feel that great to think about. Or maybe someone already has done this to you. I don't know if there is one person that could say that they have never judged someone by how they look. It is easy to do, but we must choose not to let the world change how we should treat each other . We all need the same things in life, and God did not create us to tear each other apart, but to uplift each other and love one another. We weren't made to get through life alone.
